Scrappy soap? Yes indeed--this "Kerk Guild Soapy Product" was designed by someone named Lester Gaba who, you'll discover with a little Googling, was apparently a famous soap sculptor. Most of the color has evaporated, but the figures themselves are remarkably well preserved, and remarkably well done, too. That no small child of the 1930s bathed with these figures is fortunate; that they've survived for seven decades or so in such good shape is astonishing.
