\nUntil now, this site has been sadly bereft of any photos of the people behind Scrappy. No longer. We’re grateful to Dr. Richard Huemer for these photos, which likely date from 1930 or 1931, of the Mintz Studio staff. They’re wonderfully evocative, and we’re pleased to present them here.<\/p>\n

Here we have the key players at the studio: Composer Joe DeNat, artist Art Davis, Charles Mintz himself, artist Sid Marcus, and artist Dick Huemer. (Click on the picture for a larger version.)<\/p>\n

And here’s what seems to be a photo of the whole studio staff, including what looks to be a gaggle of ink-and-paint girls. We haven’t identified any of these folks except for the ones in the first picture–but we’re working on it. (Click on the picture for a larger version.)<\/p>\n
